Comforting a friend

From: Fan Zixuan, Pri 6, Yu Neng Primary School

I would comfort Swara by getting her gifts like a teddy bear that she can squeeze if she is very sad or angry. I would say, “Swara, you shouldn’t be sad but happy and grateful for the time you spend with your grandmother. Look, my grandmother passed away when I was just five years old, but I did not grieve over it for long. What happened in the past should not affect us now.”

When my grandmother passed away, my friend comforted me by giving me this customised crystal lamp with a photo of my grandmother and me on it. I would always look at it when I was feeling down, and it reminded me that my grandmother will always be looking down at me from above. I would wish to do the same for Swara and get her a crystal lamp in her favourite colour, engraved with a picture of her grandmother and her. I hope Swara will feel what I felt when my friend got me the lamp.

As Swara likes detective games and challenges, I will find some interesting escape room challenges and detective games on the web and help her make the escape room or detective game at home. By doing this, I can remind her on the great times she and her grandmother had.
