Aurora breaks down in tears. If she had not been so engrossed in her conversation, Frenchie would have been safe in his classroom. She runs into the woods, sits under a large Angsana tree, and bawls her eyes out.
Out of the blue, she feels a droplet on her head. Then another. She looks up at the sky in confusion. The sun was shining bright, and there was no grey cloud in sight. Her gaze shifted toward a branch on the tree. Lo and behold, her eyes were met with a crying Frenchie. “F-frenchie?” Aurora stammers. Surprised, Frenchie looks down. Instantly, his tears dry up and he turns his face skyward. He is elated.
“Frenchie! I missed you so much! Get down here!” Aurora exclaims. However, Frenchie doesn’t budge. He is scared. He is stuck in the tree. “I’ll get the police!” Aurora yells and dashes off. Eventually, the police arrives and manages to get Frenchie to safety.
“F-f-friend?” Frenchie stutters. His voice is music to Aurora’s ears. He talked! Aurora gives him a warm smile, takes a stick, and carves the words “FRIEND IN NEED” on the tree trunk. This will be their own Angsana tree. Whenever either of the two best friends feels down, they will go to their special “Friend In Need” tree. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
