To help Ruby, firstly, I will ask her if there’s anything that I can do to help, whether it’s schoolwork or just to talk and chat. Next, I will lend a listening ear. Sometimes, just listening actively can make a big difference and lower her stress. Moreover, I will show empathy.
I will let Ruby know that I care about her and that I will help her along the way. A simple “I am here for you” can go a long way in showing support. I will invite Ruby to join me and my friends in activities or study groups. It will help her feel connected to others and less isolated. I will check in on her regularly as well. Sending a quick message or friendly chat can remind her that she is not alone and that I’m thinking of her.
Lastly, I will share positive experiences by reminding her of times when she overcame challenges. This will help boost her confidence.
Helping someone is about being there in both small and big ways!
