Looking reluctant, Jett agrees to the girls’ suggestion, but he already has a plan in mind to play a trick on the Oasis’s manager, Bennz. His trick is to release Needles at Bennz and give him a nasty fright so he will expel Jett from the Oasis. Jett feels very angry that his dad sent him to the Oasis without consulting him and he is very frustrated as he can’t get out. This is an opportunity that he cannot miss.
Jett plans to train Needles like a dog trainer that he saw on Netflix. Determined, he entices Needles with yummy treats and teaches Needles how to obey simple commands. Needles is a fast learner and can learn all the tricks in a single sitting. However, Needles only identifies Jett as his sole owner. Needles follows Jett like a good little puppy.
Weeks pass and a strong friendship forms. Jett and Needles care for each other deeply. Slowly, Jett aborts his plan to play the trick on Bennz as he does not want any bad things to happen to Needles.
Unfortunately, life does not always go as planned. Grace and Brooklynne are overwhelmed with jealousy. They feel that Needles should be their pet. As a result, both report Needles to Bennz. Needles is taken away.
Jett feels horrible, he feels like he has been stabbed in the heart. In the end, Jett goes to Bennz and begs him to free Needles. Jett promised to always behave and keep Needles in his room. After much persuasion, Bennz agrees.
From this experience, Jett learns that he should not take things for granted and friendship cannot be bought. He will cherish this valuable relationship with utmost care and sincerity.
