IF I WERE LAYLA

From: Jade, Pri 5, CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel

If I were Layla, I would take that one week away from school to think about what had happened in school on that terrible day and reflect on myself. Was it really necessary to head-butt the bully? Could I have used another method to defend myself against the bully? Was force really needed? I will have a positive mindset. Bullies are mean and weak. They want to bully others because they just want to be satisfied. Each time they successfully upset someone, they feel a spark of happiness in their heart. Talking to an adult who understands really helps. Perhaps, I could talk to my Dad about what had happened. He would understand how I felt. At the end of the day, we would discuss how to solve the problem and most likely, I would go back to MMGS with him to talk with the Principal. Since my Dad cares about me a lot, he would convince the Principal and tell him/her why I deserved the scholarship and why I had to defend myself against the bullies.
