The lady on the throne smiled warmly. “Welcome, stranger, to our underwater world.”
Shim Jung returned the smile and looked around. “Are you the lady controlling our storms?” she squeaked when she found her voice. The Dragon Queen explained that a special seashell given to her by her mother was stolen by the people of Haemin Island. So, she had been sending storms to the island occasionally.
“But that’s not fair! Hundreds of homes are destroyed by the storms and you don’t care?” Shim Jung protested.
“It is fair if they stole from me. That seashell was just so…important to me.” Her voice trailed off as she wiped her watery eyes.
Suddenly, an idea struck Shim Jung. “What can we do to make it up to you? We have lots of shops, I know 6 traders, and we also have an amazing produce of rockmelons.”
The Dragon Queen interrupted her. “There is one thing. Tsunami has been dying to have one of those wooden cups with those white layers inside. What is it called, conut? Coconots?”
Shim Jung knew what she was talking about. “A coconut! I’ll be back,” she said as she powered her legs to swim back to shore. Once she collected the finest, largest, and freshest coconut, she swam back to the underwater world. The dragon flicked her tail happily as she admired her treasure.
“Thank you,” the Queen breathed as she watched her pet pry open the shell. From that day, the storms stopped and everyone was grateful to Shim Jung.
