LEARNING TO BE RESPONSIBLE

From: Doan Ngoc Khoa, Pri 6, Bukit View Primary

Learning to be responsible is an important part of growing up. Responsibility means doing the right thing even when no one is watching. It also means keeping promises, completing tasks on time, and accepting the consequences of our actions.

I learned to be responsible by managing my schoolwork and helping with simple chores at home. At first, I often forgot to finish my homework or left my room messy. However, I realised that being careless created more problems for myself and others. I started using a timetable to organise my tasks and reminded myself to complete them before relaxing. Gradually, I became more disciplined and dependable.

Being responsible has made my life more organised and less stressful. My parents and teachers trust me more because they know I will do what I am supposed to do. This experience taught me that responsibility is not a burden but a valuable habit. It helps us become reliable people and prepares us for greater challenges in the future.
