Dear May,
The fame and mini-celebrity status you have gained must feel like a heavy burden on your shoulders. It must be a Herculean task to handle all that pressure. It’s no wonder the joy of chess feels dimmed for you now. Let me offer two suggestions. First, take a break. Step away from the board and do the other things that you love — chat with friends, go outside, play, or even just nap! Let your mind breathe and reset. Second, try something simple but powerful — laughter. Lie down and imagine something absolutely silly — something that always makes you laugh no matter what. In that moment of laughter, you will feel light, free, and truly happy. Remember, chess is a part of your life, not your whole life. Play it because you want to, not because others expect you to. Whatever path you take, I’ll be there cheering you on — proud of the person you are, not just the trophies you win. Take care of yourself, and don’t forget to smile.
With support always,
Samuel
