If I were the author

“Oh my god! How is this possible? I thought they were dead!” Antain exclaimed with a gasp. After heading into the forest, Antain had hidden behind a tree to wait for the village leaders to place the baby in the forest.

A few hours after the village leaders left the baby in the forest, the witch appeared on her broomstick. She grabbed the baby and flew off, leaving Antain in shock. After he recovered from the shock, Antain chased after the witch but kept out of her sight. The witch entered a castle and Antain followed closely.

Upon entering the castle, Antain was flabbergasted by the sight before him. There were groups of boys from his village fighting and training. One of the boys recognised him and walked up to him. Antain looked at him and realised this was his childhood friend who had been sacrificed to the witch.

He told Antain what happened and why he was not eaten by the witch. He said the village leaders owed the witch a big debt that they could not repay. To pay their debt, the village leaders had to make up lies about the witch so that the witch could take the children to be her workers.

In the end, the village leaders were exposed by Antain. The boys were sent back to their families while the village leaders had to work for the witch. Everyone wanted Antain to be their next leader as he had uncovered the secret of the village.
